Philip Ainsworth

We are very saddened to announce the passing of Philip Ainsworth. Beloved husband of 60 years and best friend of Joan (Hendry), only son of the late Morley and Aleen Ainsworth of Bloomfield ON. Loving father of children Sarah Eden and Geordie Ashton Philip (both deceased). Much loved brother-in-law of Garry and Cathy Hawley of Lethbridge, AB. Also loved by nieces Jennifer Miller (Matt Heller and their son Blake Heller) of Calgary and Rebecca Miller (Tanner Singer) of Lethbridge. He will be missed by our friends Randy and Megan (Bolan) Wilson and their daughter Maci. Phil was a graduate of PECI in Picton and of Queens University Kingston, with a B.A. and M. Ed. He began his teaching career in Prince Edward County and then moved from teacher, Vice-Principal, Principal, Superintendent of Education and retiring as Director on Education for Hastings/Hastings-Prince Edward Board of Education. He enjoyed many hobbies including, history of ‘The County’, family tree research, house histories, construction, dry stack stone fence building, old car collecting and restoring, gardening and others. Special thanks to BGH staff on Quinte 4 for their care.
Cremation has been entrusted to Ainsworth Funeral Home, 288 Noxon Avenue, Wellington. Private interment in the Ainsworth family plot in Burr’s Cemetery. If desired, Donations to a Humane Society of your choice if desired, or to the County of Prince Edward Library and Archives would be appreciated by the family.
His strong Quiet Presence will be missed.
