David Lawrence Cooke
passed away peacefully on December 19th, 2025, 
at eighty-seven years old. 





Dave was born on February 24th, 1938, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

Dave was a proud husband of sixty-five years to Vicki Cooke (née Hounsell), 

caring father to Lawrence Cooke (Cathy), Mike Cooke (Cindy) and Sue Burrows (née Cooke, Sandy), 

beloved Papa to Sarah, Ryan, Jessica, Josh, Malcolm, Aidan, Alyssa and Bradley, 

great-grandfather to Abbie, Jade, AJ, Mason, Colton and Troy. 

Dave is predeceased by his parents, Shirley ‘Nan’ Reid and Sidney Cook, and sister, Kristen Cook. 

Dave was a retired veteran of the RCHA and an active member of the Canadian Legion for over fifty years. 

Dave humbly received several awards for his military service and was awarded the quilt of valour in November 2024. 

Dave enjoyed dancing with his wife, travelling with his trailer in his retirement, driving, woodworking, birdwatching, 

and having a good time with family and friends, who will miss him dearly. 

 

Please join Vicki and their family at the Wellington on the Lake Community Centre 

on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, at 1:00 pm to celebrate Dave’s life.
In Dave’s memory and in lieu of flowers, we are raising funds for the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
