Elizabeth Lorraine Foster
August 24, 1937 – June 14, 2026

With sadness, her family announces the passing of
Elizabeth Lorraine Foster,
aged 88, of Picton, ON.

Lorraine, who grew up in Kemptville, ON, was the daughter of John and Nellie Wilson.

When she was 16, she met her future husband, Richard Foster, while he was a student at the Kemptville Agricultural School.

At a very early age, Lorraine decided she was going to be a nurse. Staying true to this goal,
she graduated as an RN from the Kingston Hospital nursing program in 1959.
Later that year, she and Richard married and moved to the family farm in Hillier, ON.
After raising four children, she returned to nursing and worked for many years in various roles at the

Picton Memorial Hospital. Later, she worked as an office nurse in Dr. Sally Sarles medical practice.

After retirement, Lorraine worked as a parish nurse at First Baptist Church in Picton, ON, visiting church members

who were ill or in need of nursing care. She and Richard also organized and led a cancer support group based in Picton that

offered assistance to patients and their partners.

Lorraine and Richard were avid travellers and vacationed throughout Canada, the US, Europe, Central and South America and Israel.

Lorraine enjoyed needlecrafts such as cross-stitch. She was also an avid quilter and greatly enjoyed participating in a local quilting

group with dear friends.

Lorraine is survived by her brother Gary Wilson (Irene) of Midland, ON, as well as her sister-in-law, Edith Cairns (the late Alfred)

and brother-in-law, Theodore Foster (the late Joan), both of Ameliasburg. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Richard Foster,

as well as by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doug and Ruth Crawford of Hillier.

Lorraine will be remembered with love by her children: Dianne Foster Kent, Janice Hawes (Gordon),

Michael Foster (Dana) and Daniel Foster (Lori), and by her grandchildren: Connor Kent (Natalie Gustar), Katharine Hawes,

Megan Foster (Jeremy Glazier), Juliana Hawes (Nolan Jarv), Canniff Foster and Nicolas Foster (Sage Noxon)

and great-grand daughter, Camille Kent.
