Martin Fralick

Martin James Fralick
(January 3, 1953 – October 14, 2026)

Turn up the classic rock and raise a glass to Martin James Fralick!

Marty, a true free spirit with an infectious sense of humour and an endless love for life, passed away peacefully at Hospice Prince Edward on October 14, 2026, following a six-month illness.

Born in Belleville, Ontario, on January 3, 1953, Marty was the cherished son of the late Howard Ernest Fralick and Dorothy Kathleen Roach.

He is reunited in sound and spirit with his parents and his brothers, Peter (who died in infancy) and Dennis (2010).

If life had a soundtrack, Marty’s was all classic rock, cranked up to ten. His lifelong passion for music gave him an encyclopedic knowledge

of rock and roll, backing up a massive collection of vinyl records, CDs, posters, and memorabilia spanning six decades. Most days,

you could find Marty hanging out in his beloved man cave, spinning his favourite tunes with his precious dog, GirlyGirl, resting right

beside him. Bringing joy to the local community, he also loved playing "Santa Paws" every Christmas at the Picton Pet Valu!

At age 59, Marty hit the jackpot when he married the love of his life, Joanne Courneya, in 2012 at Glenwood Chapel.

Together, they packed their years with adventure—travelling the world and even co-authoring local history and western novels.

Marty was exceptionally proud of his stepson, Robert FitzRoy, and was thrilled for him as he prepares to start his college education

 in Kingston next year.

A Scattering service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, Picton on Tuesday, November 24th at noon

and then in true Marty fashion, we’re keeping things upbeat and full of good vibes.

Family and friends are invited to come share stories,

laugh, and turn up Marty’s favourite tunes at a Celebration of Life at

Legendz Pub (Highway 62, Rossmore — just below the Bay Bridge) from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marty’s memory can be made to support animals in need at the
