Calvin William Thomas
June 16,1955 - December 11, 2025

During the final months of life, Calvin faced his world of dementia. Though his memory had changed he continued to show his

caring ways & adorable sense of humour

Cal took his final breath here on earth Thursday, December 11th, 2025 wrapped in a circle of love.

On the wings of an angel, he traveled to his eternal home where he was greeted by 2 very important women in his life his

Mom Ella Thomas & his Aunt Rose Collins.

Calvin was a very principled man. He was a man of integrity, always accountable for his actions. He was authentic, true to his word, undeniably compassionate with a genuine caring for others. He enjoyed fun & laughter and was the first to say, "How can I help".

He welcomed anyone into his man cave or his home always more than ready to stop share a beer & a story.

Calvin shared 37 wonderful years with his life's partner & friend. Sheila (Lynch) Thomas. Together hand in hand they travelled life’s journey.

Calvin was proud to be stepfather to the Nash boys Joel, Nathan & Lucas. He strived to instill in them the virtues that would anchor them along their journey through life.  He welcomed their partners to the family & was so proud to be Papa Calvin to Tyler, Seth, Decimus & Cody & Great Papa Calvin to Bennett & Olive. Calvin was predeceased by his brother's Frederick & Robert & his sister Lorraine Chinn. He will fondly be remembered & missed by his remaining siblings Gerald & Gertie, Selwyn & Madona, Carol & Calvin Horwood, Lionel & Trish, Gary & Sandra & Paul Guzwell. Calvin's niece's & nephew will always remember one of their favorite uncle's, Uncle Suz

Calvin will also be very missed by his Ontario family. Calvin would have loved to have had more time with Vincent & Noreen who welcomed him into the Lynch fold.  Calvin & his father-in-law had much in common, a great sense of humour & desire to torment. They did have some good laughs at the expense of others. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law's Danny & Rick. His in-laws Shirley & Francis Lajoie, Laurie Freeman, Mary Joan & Mark Brinson, Michelle & Mark Saville along with the many nieces & nephews will cherish many moments shared

Calvin arrived in Picton June 25th, 1984 and by August 20th was ready to open his Giant Tiger Store. The opening was a huge success.

Calvin embraced everything about the County. He supported & sponsored countless events, charities, sport teams, individuals & institutions.

Calvin endeavoured to be a leader in his community with particular interest to ensure the well-being of all who lived here,

especially to those in times of crisis & need.

Calvin was extremely community minded. He was a Worshipful Master of Prince Edward Lodge #18 in 2004, a 32nd degree Mason & Member of Scottish Rite Charities. A member of the Belleville Shrine Club. He was honoured to be a Past Grand Patron of the Order if the Eastern Star,

Picton Chapter # 273. Was a member of the P.EC. Memorial Hospital Foundation, Past President of the Picton Kinsmen Club, a member of the

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 78 as well as a member on the Board of Directors for The Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance CO. to name a few.

Calvin would wish that your anchor holds strong & firm on your journey through life &

that God always bless you while he holds you firmly in the palm of his hand.
